Troubleshoot: Scanx Twain Speed Issues
This article is to help SOTA Cloud techs provide notes to an office to help with Scanx Twains not returning images quickly
Scanx Twain Description:
One factor that can improve speed issues is the description of the TWAIN driver used by SOTA Cloud. This is named in the ScanX VISIONX utility that Air Techniques uses to configure hardware on the PCs. By default, the TWAIN may include a dash in its name. An Air Techniques technician informed SOTA that dashes can cause a delay in communication between their TWAIN and SOTA Cloud. If you notice a TWAIN labeled with a dash, such as in the example below, it’s recommended that the office contacts Air Techniques to rename it to "ScanX Intraoral View" for better performance.
Replacing Scanx DS file:
Another task that Air Techniques will need to handle is replacing the imda.ds TWAIN file across multiple folders. This specific file ensures proper communication between devices, and updating it may resolve issues.
