Troubleshoot: Disabling SOTA Hub Automatic Updates Prompt

This article provides instructions on how to disable the automatic update prompt in SOTA Hub to prevent it from appearing when a new update is available.

Steps to Disable SOTA Hub Auto-Update Pop-Up:

  1. Close SOTA Hub:

    • Right-click on the SOTA Hub icon in the system tray and select Quit.
  2. Access the SOTA Hub File Location:

    • Right-click on the SOTA Hub shortcut on your desktop.
    • Select Open File Location from the dropdown menu.
  3. Edit the SOTA Hub Configuration File:

    • Double-click on the SOTAHub.ini file (it may show up as SOTAHub with "Configuration Settings" listed under its description).
    • Locate the section labeled [Hub Section].
    • Add the line AutomaticUpdates=False below SotaPopEnabledVaTech=True.
  4. Save and Close the INI File:

    • Go to the File dropdown menu and click Save.
    • Close the INI file.
  5. Re-Open SOTA Hub:

    • Re-launch the SOTA Hub from the desktop or system tray.

Results:

If the office hasn't run the auto-update for the SOTA Hub, the pop-up asking users to update will no longer appear. If the office has already updated, ensure that the auto-update window doesn't display when a new version of SOTA Hub is available.
