How-To Configure the Dentrix Smart Image Bridge

To help setup integration between Dentrix and SOTA Cloud

  1. Make sure that Smart Image for Dentrix and SOTA Connector is installed/up to date.

    1. If it’s already installed: You can just hit the cog in the Smart Image tab. From there you can see “Check for Updates”.

    2. To find the Smart Image installer and the SOTA Connector, there is usually a shared folder: DTX Common Folder>Installs>Smart Image

      1. If you can’t find the shared folder, you’ll need to get access to their server computer.

    3. Once there, you’ll be to find the Smart Image install and the SOTA Connector install.

    4. Make sure to close out Dentrix. Install Smart Image and then install the SOTA Connector.

    5. Once the installs are finished, open up Dentrix again and you should see a cog on the bottom right when accessing the Smart Image tab when in a patient’s chart.

    6. Click it. Another window will pop open. There should be a SOTA tab there now.

    7. In that tab, it will ask you for the instance name.

      1. For example, https://sb1.sotadevices.com, the instance name would be sb1

    8. Once you save that, the SOTA button at the top should work correctly now.

    9. [Updated for 3.0]

One last thing to note!

Dentrix Smart Image will also give you a choice on what kind of Bridge ID to send over, in the "Bridging" tab, select SOTA Image on the top drop-down and then select the Bridge ID, the following choices are as follows and it should match an office's previous Imaging Software's Bridge ID:

GUID - Long string of letters and numbers
PatID - Usually short string of numbers
ChartNum - 2 letters and then numbers

----

After choosing the Bridge ID, make sure to click "Save Bridge Options"! Feel free to click OK afterwards.

Note: If the Smart Image button disappears like so:

You will have to reinstall Smart Image to get it back. There isn't another known way to get it back right now.-
